ISO 18928:2026 — Imaging materials — Unprocessed photographic films and papers — Storage practices

“This document specifies recommended storage conditions for unprocessed silver halide containing photographic materials. It is not applicable to processed films and prints. This document applies to black-and-white and colour photographic materials (e.g. negative films, positive films, reversal films, positive papers and X-ray films).”

ISO 28564-1:2026 — Public information guidance systems Part 1: Design principles and element requirements for location plans, maps and diagrams

“This document specifies requirements and principles for the design and application of location plans, maps and diagrams used in public areas and workplaces to assist users to understand the environment, locate facilities and determine appropriate routes to reach those facilities. These location plans, maps and diagrams are referred to as location plans in this document. Location plans are intended for use in, for example, shopping centres, stores, hospitals, bus and train stations, airports, sporting and entertainment complexes, urban areas, parks, gardens and countryside, public attractions, museums and office complexes. This document is not applicable to the design of escape plans, nor does it cover the design of location signs, direction signs, information index signs, and installation and assessment of wayfinding systems.”

“This document specifies controls, purpose, and guidance for implementing controls, to meet the requirements identified by a risk and impact assessment related to the protection of personally identifiable information (PII). In particular, this document specifies requirements and guidance based on ISO/IEC 27002, taking into consideration the controls for processing PII that can be applicable within the context of an organization's information security risk environment(s). This document is applicable to all types and sizes of organizations acting as PII controllers (as defined in ISO/IEC 29100), including public and private companies, government entities and not-for-profit organizations that process PII, in particular, organizations that do not establish or operate a privacy information management system.”

The standard helps organizations understand the foundations of information security management before selecting, implementing or working with more specific ISMS standards. This sixth edition has been revised to focus on overview, concepts and relationships rather than serving as a terminology document.”

Transcript Provenance Metadata Elements, Version 1.0 [AI4LAM]
“The AI4LAM Speech-to-Text Working Group is pleased to announce version 1.0 of Transcript Provenance Metadata Elements (TPME), published on July 10, 2026. TPME is a set of metadata elements designed to record the provenance of common informational artifacts (like transcripts) that are derived from primary media items, often by way of AI systems. The schema was developed over 18 months through an open drafting and revision process involving practitioners across libraries and archives. TPME is published as both PDF (for use by humans) and Markdown (for use by humans or computers), available here:  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21287085. New and Revised ACRL Standards, Statements, and Frameworks on Access Services, Status of Academic Librarians [ACRL Insider]
“The ACRL Board of Directors approved a revision of “A Framework for Access Services Librarianship” (PDF) at its June, 27, 2026, meeting. Developed by the ACRL Access Services Interest Group (ASIG), the revised document now opens with six core concepts ASIG identified as central to the practice of the craft of Access Services Librarianship, informed by a series of open forums and a survey of access services professionals’ personal experiences with the existing document. The Board also approved a updated version of the “Statement on the Terminal Professional Degree for Academic Librarians” and new “ACRL Standards for the Employment, Promotion, and Tenure of Academic Librarians.”

Strengthening Scholarly Integrity - Introducing COPE’s Core Principles and Code of Conduct [COPE]
