NISO Technology Summit 2023: A Virtual Event

In the ever-changing landscape of information, 2023 emerged as a pivotal year, marked by the White House declaration of “The Year of Open Science.” Against this backdrop, this year’s NISO Technology Summit:  A Reflection of the Year of Open Science will convene to ponder the challenges, achievements, and prospects facing the content providers, service providers, and platform hosts at the front lines of the open science movement.

Split over two days, the program features industry insiders who have been working on the advanced guard of open science. They will ask and answer questions about how organizations and systems rose to the declaration, what worked well, what needs improvement, where the exciting opportunities lie, and what complications need resolution as we move forward. Day One of the program will take a high-level approach about ambitions and realities, while Day Two will offer deeper discussions about comparing the United States’ practice to European efforts, the cultural implications and complications of openness, as well as a practical assessment of the tools and systems needed.
