The Countdown to NISO Plus 2021 Begins

It’s February, and we’re officially counting down to the second annual NISO Plus conference, running February 22-25!

Like NISO Plus 2020, we’ve designed the program for this year’s conference to help you both make connections and have conversations with your colleagues in the information community. And, because this year’s conference is fully digital, those connections and conversations will be global — around 600 people have already registered, from every continent except Antarctica!

The 160 speakers are experts and leaders from across our community, including keynotes Cory Doctorow; Margaret Sraku-Lartey, Dr Norihiro Hagita, Zeynep Tufekci, and Heather Joseph, winner of the 2021 Miles Conrad Award, who will deliver the annual Miles Conrad Lecture during the conference. Please check out the full program of 50+ sessions for more information!

Through a mix of presentations, conversation, and discussion, on a wide-ranging selection of topics curated by our wonderful global Planning Committee, you’ll get to both hear from information experts and share your own experience and perspectives. Each session includes at least 30 minutes of discussion about the challenges and opportunities for our community, where you can engage with information colleagues from around the world. And there’ll also be plenty of opportunities for virtual networking on gather.town — including at our social events, Jeopardy: NISO Edition (sponsored by Figshare), and virtual cocktails/mocktails (sponsored by Crossref). Or simply relax with friends at our virtual Baltimore art exhibit (sponsored by EBSCO).

To ensure everyone can attend, wherever you are located, the program will span two time slots: from 10.00am - 2.00pm EST, US/Canada/3.00pm - 7.00pm UTC, primarily for attendees in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa; and then again from 8.00pm - 10.30pm EST, US/Canada/1.00am - 3.30am UTC, primarily for attendees in Asia Pacific.

Thanks to our generous sponsors, we’ve been able to keep the registration fees low, to enable the fullest possible participation — and there’s still time to register!
