NISO Member News

Late in September, an Atla blog post announced that Atla Scholarly Communication and Digital Projects Manager, Christine Fruin, has been named President-Elect for the Library Publishing Coalition (LPC). Christine stepped into her role as President-Elect over the summer and will assume the responsibilities of the President as of July 1, 2021.

As an attorney and a librarian, Christine has worked for over a decade, promoting access to and use of diverse collections through the utilization of fair use, open access, and responsible licensing.

According to its website, the LPC is an "independent, community-led membership association of academic and research libraries and library consortia engaged in scholarly publishing". Atla is one of many LPC members, who make up academic and research libraries and library consortia that have or are considering library publishing programs.
