Best Tech Books of 2017

It’s the end of the year, and that means best-book lists abound. Sadly for NISO’s audience, these lists mostly include fiction; where they do include nonfiction, it’s mostly not science and technology; and where they do include that category, there’s not much on technology. There are some exceptions, such as best tech lists from Wired and the Guardian. Still, a few books on technology did hit the various lists on offer lately. These are:

Irresistible: The Rise of Addictive Technology and the Business of Keeping Us Hooked
Adam Alter

Everybody Lies: Big Data, New Data, and What the Internet Can Tell Us About Who We Really Are
By Seth Stephens-Davidowitz

Life 3.0: Being Human in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Max Tegmark

Life in Code: A Personal History of Technology
By Ellen Ullman
