Register Now for the 2027 NISO Plus Baltimore Conference!
Registration for the 2027 NISO Plus Baltimore conference (February 15–17) is now open! Sign up by Monday, January 11 for the best rates to the annual event that brings information professionals together to network, brainstorm, and share ideas for addressing pressing challenges in scholarly communications.
The NISO Plus Planning Committee has reviewed session proposal ideas, and we will announce our preliminary program soon! In the meantime, here’s a preview of just some of the topics we’ll address:
- The impact of censorship on scholarly research
- Usage metrics for generative and agentic AI systems
- What librarians need to know about AI-driven bot activity
- Open science and research assessment
- The impact of AI on search
- Model context protocols (MCPs) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
- Research integrity and trust markers
- Accessibility metadata
- Driving PID and standards adoption
- NISO standards updates
The program will also feature pre-conferences (including JATS-Con) and our annual awards luncheon, which includes the Miles Conrad Award and Lecture.
NISO Plus offers the opportunity not only to learn, but also to make your voice heard in discussions about potential standards projects and initiatives. You’ll engage with participants from across the information community—publishers, librarians, tech and service providers, scholarly infrastructure providers, and more—during the discussion period that follows every presentation. Ideas generated during these conversations will be reviewed by our Topic Committees, which work to identify community needs that can be addressed through standards.
To join us, visit our registration page and sign up by January 11 for early-bird discounts! You can also reserve rooms at the conference venue, the Marriott Waterfront on Aliceanna Street, at a discount. We hope to see you in February.
Thank you to our NISO Plus sponsors, Cadmore Media (our platform partner), figshare (our slide repository), Silverchair, and Project MUSE. Information on sponsorship levels and opportunities can be found in our online form.
