There's Still Time to Submit a Proposal for NISO Plus 2027 in Baltimore

August 2026

Get your idea(s) in by September 10!

Scholarly communications professionals, what's keeping you up at night? Whatever it is, you don't have to go it alone—share your challenges and explore potential solutions at our NISO Plus Baltimore conference (February 15–17, 2027)! The call for proposals is open through September 10, 2026.

NISO Plus Baltimore brings together professionals from across the information community to identify shared challenges and brainstorm potential solutions. We invite proposals addressing a broad range of topics, from accessibility and all things AI to open research and research integrity. Here's a list of suggestions from our NISO Plus Planning Committee:

  • Accessibility
  • AI in scholarly communications
  • Measuring AI usage
  • MCPs and chatbots for researchers
  • AI-generated metadata and provenance
  • AI transparency and disclosure
  • AI tools and use cases
  • Cross-institutional collaboration models
  • Digital preservation
  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion in scholarly communications
  • Federated identity and access control systems
  • Licensing and copyright
  • Metadata and persistent identifiers
  • Open access models and business processes
  • Open data
  • Open scholarship infrastructure
  • Peer review
  • Political and financial pressures on scholarly communications and infrastructure
  • Research integrity
  • Search and discovery systems

Don't worry if you don't see your idea here! We want to hear about what's important to you and your organization, so topics not on the list are welcome.

Again, the deadline for submissions is open through September 10, so get your ideas in soon. All submissions will be reviewed by the Planning Committee, and we will inform everyone of their decisions by October 5, 2026.
