The Early-Bird Deadline for NISO Plus Global/Online Is Approaching
July 2026
Standards start with conversations, and the conversations are happening at the NISO Plus Global/Online virtual conference (September 16–17)! If you’d like to collaborate with information professionals from around the world to explore shared challenges and potential solutions, register now—the August 11 early-bird deadline is just two weeks away.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Connecting Human Futures and Intelligent Systems through Standards,” and the program covers how we can best leverage new technologies while supporting values such as research integrity and transparency. An opening keynote from Joy Owango will demonstrate how standards-driven persistent identifier ecosystems can become the foundation for trustworthy AI, research integrity, and equitable scholarly communication, particularly in underrepresented knowledge systems across Africa. Topics covered in parallel sessions include tracking provenance, attribution, and usage in AI systems; AI and copyright; and AI-ready metadata. The program also addresses accessibility, trust markers for research integrity, multilingualism in scholarly publishing, and more.
