Organizational Resilience through Collaboration: A 2026 NISO Training Series
Thursdays, June 4–June 25, 2026, 11:00 am–12:30 pm (Eastern Standard Time, US & Canada)
From research infrastructure to consortia, collaborative models provide creative solutions to shared challenges, helping to scale capacity and reduce risk for all stakeholders. This virtual training course will provide a practical guide to the pros and cons of cross-stakeholder collaboration and its importance for organizational resilience.
Participants will learn about the importance of establishing shared goals and values, ensuring effective communications, getting and maintaining buy-in from the communities being served, and measuring progress. They will hear from the leaders behind three successful, community-led collaborations: Maurice York, Vice President for Library Programs, Big Ten Academic Alliance, Chris Shillum, Executive Director of ORCID, and Lauren Kane, CEO, BioOne. These speakers will share key challenges and opportunities their organizations have faced as well as lessons learned on their paths to resilience through collaboration. The course is also interactive, with participants learning through activities and discussion as well as listening.

Much Ado About Authorship: Research Integrity & AI Systems

What counts as authorship when AI assists—or drafts—content? We’ll dig into disclosure practices, tools and workflows for detecting machine-generated text and images, handling hallucinations and manipulated content, and editorial policies that safeguard trust while keeping reviews efficient.

The NISO Annual Members Meeting will take place online on Wednesday, June 24, from 12:00–1:30 pm EDT/5:00–6:30 pm BST. This program is open to the public, and all (members as well as nonmembers) are welcome to participate. You will hear from our Executive Director, Todd Carpenter, and other NISO staff about important organizational issues, including the NISO Plus conference, our organizational finances, and our standards program. It’s also a chance for you to ask us any questions you have about our organization and how we operate as well as to share your own feedback about NISO and our work.
