How Much Scholarship Went Into That?

How do we evaluate scholarship appearing outside of traditional outlets?

Executive Director Paula Krebs of the Modern Language Association asked this question during the recent NISO Humanities Roundtable. The context was a piece she herself had written in support of the American Historical Association position statement regarding the teaching of critical race theory.

How much work, how much knowledge, how much scholarly expertise went into composition of an op-ed for purposes of measuring contribution asks @PaulaKrebs of the Modern Language Association. We need to expand our understanding of how best to do this. @NISOInfo
