Wednesday September 21 - Training for Content Provider Applications of OpenURL and Metasearch
Tailored for technical staff and developers this training day will help
you understand the parameters of quality assurance and compatibility
that will allow your product to interact seamlessly and steer users to
your content.

- Registration (each day): 8:00-8:30 a.m.
- OpenURL Workshop - Monday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Reception 5:30-7:30 p.m.
- Metasearch Workshop - Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Training Day - Wednesday, 8:30-5:00
Who Should Attend?
- Librarians will gain a deeper understanding of the linking and metasearch services on the market and ideas for future applications. Those actively developing content, through institutional repositories or electronic publishing initiatives, can learn how to make their content visible through technologies based on these standards.
- Vendors designing and selling metasearch tools and linking services will have an opportunity to learn more about how these standards can be modeled into products and services as well as the practices that lead to successful implementations.
- Content providers (publishers, aggregators and hosting services) will learn how the use of these standards can increase the visibility of their products and open new markets. Those responsible for strategic decisions will get a good view of directions for development.
All participants will have the opportunity to network with information professionals in a setting conducive to learning and exchange.

Meeting Fees and Registration
Registration is accepted for any combination of days. Each day registration includes breakfast and lunch. Monday and Tuesday registrants are invited to a Monday evening reception. Employees of NISO Voting Members and Library Standards Alliance Members receive substantial discounts. Multiple day registrations are also discounted.

- Early bird rates are offered until August 26, 2005.
- Regular rates will apply from August 27 until September 14th.
- Advance registration closes on September 14. After that date, please call the NISO office to arrange on-site registration. A processing fee of $50 will be added to each on-site registration.
- Cancellations made by September 7 will receive a full refund less a $50 processing fee. After September 7, there are no refunds.
