About the Forum
E-books have existed in the library landscape for over a decade, but it is only in the last few years that their use has shifted to finally become the game-changer that all have anticipated for so long. Availability, distribution, licensing, discoverability, current and future access, and usage of e-books all require content providers and libraries to change many of their existing processes and develop new ways to do business. Amidst this confusion is a wealth of opportunities for new collaborations and initiatives.
The NISO Forum, The E-Book Renaissance, Part II: Challenges and Opportunities will probe the key issues surrounding e-books from a variety of industry, library, scholarly, and consumer viewpoints. Participate in the community discussion for advancing e-book development, distribution, and use.

- Students should submit proof of enrollment when registering. Please contact the NISO office (301-654-2512) with questions.
- Live streaming registration is per site (access for one computer) and includes access to the online recorded archive of the forum for one year. If you are registering someone else from your organization, either use that person's e-mail address when registering or contact the NISO office to provide alternate contact information.
- Registrants will receive detailed instructions about accessing the live streaming via e-mail the Monday prior to the event. (Anyone registering between Monday and the close of registration will receive the message shortly after the registration is received, within normal business hours.) Due to the widespread use of spam blockers, filters, out of office messages, etc., it is your responsibility to contact the NISO office if you do not receive instructions before the start of the forum.
- Live streaming will be done through a password protected stream on the Ustream website (www.ustream.tv/). If you have a broadband Internet connection and a web browser that can view flash streaming videos, you should be able to view the Forum livestream. Registrants are encouraged to visit the Ustream website in advance of the forum and view one of the public videos to confirm system compatibility. For more information about system requirements, visit: helpcenter.ustream.tv/category/category/viewing. Registrants are responsible for ensuring their own system compatibility.
- Live streaming success is dependent on many factors, some of which are outside NISO's control. We are not anticipating any particular issues with the live streaming technology for this event, but if problems occur and the Forum is inaccessible for the streaming attendee(s), we will communicate a schedule for refunds at that time, based on the circumstances.
- All registrants, in-person and live streaming, will receive information after the webinar about accessing the recorded version.
