Peter BrantleyPeter Brantley

Peter Brantley is the Director of the BookServer Project at the Internet Archive, a San Francisco based not-for-profit digital library. He is a regular contributor to blogs on libraries and publishing, and speaks and writes extensively on transformations in reading, media, and information access. Peter has been one of the principals behind the development and adoption of the Open Publication Distribution System (OPDS). Prior to working at the Internet Archive, he was the Executive Director of the Digital Library Federation. His background includes significant experience with research libraries and digital library development programs. He has served as the Director of Technology at the California Digital Library, New York University, UC Berkeley, and UCSF. He has been a member of the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) Board since 2007, and was previously active in the OEBF’s Rights and Rules committee.
 


Todd Carpenter

National Information Standards Organization (NISO)

Todd Carpenter joined NISO as Managing Director in September 2006. In this role, Todd provides leadership to NISO as well as focuses on improving constituency relationships, standards development, and operational procedures. Previously, Todd was Director of Business Development with BioOne, a not-for-profit online journal aggregator, where he served the goals of both libraries and publishers by enhancing the products, services, and distribution that BioOne provides to participant constituencies.

Leadership in collaborative initiatives and partnerships among libraries and publishers has been a key aspect of Todd's career. Prior to joining NISO, Todd was at the Johns Hopkins University Press, where he directed the marketing of their 60 academic journals and was closely involved in the growth of Project MUSE, JHUP's online aggregation of humanities and social science journals. He has also held marketing and business development positions at the Energy Intelligence Group, a news service covering the oil and natural gas industries, and the Haworth Press, an academic and professional publisher. Todd is a graduate of Syracuse University and earned a masters degree in marketing from The Johns Hopkins University.


Adam ChandlerAdam Chandler

Adam Chandler is Database Management and Electronic Resources Research Librarian at the Cornell University Library (CUL), where his current job responsibilities include: project lead for the Cornell WorldCat Local implementation; OpenURL linking; canonical citation linking research; user-centered design workflow; and usage statistics management. He co-designed Cornell's "ITSO CUL" acquisitions workflow tool, which was later licensed to OCLC as "OCLC Selection." Adam was a member of the Digital Library Federation's Electronic Resource Management Initiative (ERMI) Steering Group from 2001-2005. He served as founder and co-chair for the NISO Standardized Usage Statistics Harvesting Initiative (SUSHI) from 2005-2009. He is currently a member of the COUNTER Executive Committee and chairs NISO’s "OpenURL Quality Metrics" initiative.

Ameet Doshi is the User Engagement Librarian and Assessment Coordinator at Georgia Tech Library. As head of the User Experience department, he helps guide UX initiatives for the library and also coordinates the library’s student advisory board.

Bob Fox is the Associate Director for Public and Administrative Services at Georgia Tech Library. Bob leads a Public Services agenda that seeks to transform the library’s physical and programmatic aspects by actively seeking user engagement and employing continuous assessment.  He is also responsible for leading the library’s administrative functions.

 


Dottie HuntDottie Hunt

Dottie Hunt is an Information Associate II in the User Experience Department at Georgia Tech Library. Her role involves multimedia design and development for dissemination in print and digital formats. She analyzes environmental trends in usability, design and technology, and develops appropriate marketing and branding initiatives both within the Library and across the Institute that fit such trends. 
 


Harry Kaplanian
Director of Technology
Serials Solutions

Harry Kaplanian was appointed Director of Technology in May 2009 after serving as Serials Solutions Director of Product Management for two years. Prior to joining Serials Solutions, he worked for Microsoft developing Live Search Books.

He also served as Vice President of Development at Mandarin Library Automation and previously Director of Development at SIRS Publishing. Harry graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Computer Science with an emphasis on mathematics.

Harry works with Serials Solutions Product Managers to develop new features and enhancements for Serials Solutions e-resource access and management services. His team collaborates with customers to understand the demands of the library market as it evolves and create products that answer the needs of digital librarians today.

 


Nettie LagaceNettie Lagace

Nettie Lagace is bX Product Manager at Ex Libris, where she's spent nearly the last ten years working with customers on implementations and product development for SFX, Verde, and bX. Her M.I.L.S. is from the University of Michigan, and she lives in Somerville, MA.

 


Joan K. Lippincott
Associate Executive Director
Coalition for Networked Information (CNI)

Joan K. Lippincott is the Associate Executive Director of the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI), a joint program of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and EDUCAUSE. CNI, based in Washington, DC, is an institutional membership organization that advances the transformative promise of networked information technology for the advancement of scholarly communication and the enrichment of intellectual productivity. She has been with CNI since 1990.

At CNI, Joan has provided leadership for programs in teaching and learning, assessment, learning spaces, and collaboration among professional groups. She is a widely published author and frequent conference speaker. She is chair of the Association of College & Research Libraries New Publications committee, past chair of the editorial board of College & Research Libraries News and is on the boards of portal and the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD).

Joan previously held positions at the libraries of Cornell University, George Washington University, Georgetown University, and SUNY at Brockport. In addition, she worked at the Research and Policy Analysis Division of the American Council on Education and the National Center for Postsecondary Governance and Finance at the University of Maryland.

Joan received her Ph.D. in higher education policy, planning, and administration from the University of Maryland, her M.L.S. from SUNY Geneseo, and an A.B. from Vassar College.

Phil Norman
Director, Reference and Resource Sharing Development
OCLC

Phil Norman has been with OCLC since 1986. He is currently responsible for the development of end user and delivery products such as worldcat.org, WorldCat Local, WorldCat Navigator, WorldCat Resource Sharing, FirstSearch, and WorldCat Collection Analysis. He was a member of the NISO OpenURL (Z39.88) standards committee. He also manages the OpenURL maintenance agency at OCLC.
