Unfortunately the developer who created the SDK is no longer with EBSCO; however, the design approach was to create the sample application in a way that the developer would replace components with their own production logic.  For example,  within the sample application, the logic that fetches the COUNTER XML is a call to a routine that simply opens and returns content from the pre-written file – you would replace that routine with logic that takes the same inputs but would fetch the usage from your usage database then format and returning the COUNTER XML.

I hope this helps some.

Oliver

Subject: [sushidevelopers] EBSCO SUSHI SDK database example?

Hi,

I’m attempting to develop a SUSHI service that utilizes the “EBSCO SUSHI SDK”. The example in the SDK uses pre-written/saved XML files. Unfortunately I’m having some difficulty figuring out how to integrate our usage database into the service and wondered if anyone has any examples of how to do this or possibly some pointers.

We were/are planning to serve the usage data on demand so weren’t planning on creating xml files for each client and period.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Allan
