Why reinvent the wheel. Use SoapSonar if your aim is just to download reports using SUSHI. BTW there is a FREE version of this tool

Subject: RE: [sushidevelopers] Questions regarding SUSHI Implementation

On the SUSHI web site (http://www.niso.org/workrooms/sushi), there is a “tools” link on the left.  One of the tools is an open source client, called MISO.  This client was developed by Serials Solutions.

You are asking about compatibility with 360 COUNTER – is your institution subscribes to 360 COUNTER, then that product will have its own built-in client (which is most likely built on the MISO code).  Products like 360 COUNTER should help with the retrieving of usage reports; and include ingesting them into a system for reporting and analysis.  A goal of these products is also to tie the usage to the library’s collection as represented in an ERM or A-to-Z list from the same vendor.

The development time of a new client will depend on the skill level of the developer and how familiar they are with developing applications that use the web services and the SOAP protocol.

Subject: [sushidevelopers] Questions regarding SUSHI Implementation

Greetings,

I am looking into the feasibility of creating a SUSHI client for our library only and I have some questions.  I have to point out that I am not a programmer or system developer so my questions are pretty basic.

Has anyone developed a client to use with any Serial Solutions product such as 360 Counter?

Are most libraries developing clients just retrieve to statistical reports?

Has anyone developed a client to ingest content?

What's the typical development time for a client that retrieves reports?

Thanks,
