Hello,
We are processing reports from several publishers/platforms and putting
them into a database to further querying. It is expected that eventually
we want to know what publishers/platforms we already collect. In order
to identify which vendor is sending which data there is the tag "Vendor"
and its subtags. The problem is that each vendor is sending those
information in different ways, where some send "Vendor" with only "Id"
filled, others send "Vendor" with only "Name" filled and empty "Id" (few
ones more zealous send all subtags related to "Vendor" filled),
resulting in difficulty in identifying who is sending such information.
Thinking about the application that processes these information, it's
need to test which field is coming filled in order to identify the
sender, and sometimes create an arbitrary way to attribute a unique
identifier to the sender. It would be much easier if there were a field
that we can always entrust that it will come filled. The natural elected
for this, in my opinion, would be "Id".
Don't you think the standard should enforce at least this field come filled?
Luiz.
