This comment is submitted by Jeffrey Beck on behalf of the Force11 Data Citation Implementation Group (https://www.force11.org/datacitationimplementation).

The @person-group-type attribute is used on the 'person-group' element to indicate the role of the contributors named in the group, for example, "author", "compiler", "editor", et al.

In Publishing and Authoring, this is a restricted list of values. In Archiving, this is a suggested list of values.

For the purposes of citing data sources such as datasets within a

citation ('mixed-citation' or 'element-citation'), the Force11 Group asks that the value "data-curator' be added to these lists.

Scope: Archiving, Publishing, Authoring

Submitter Proposed Solution

Add the value "data-curator" to the suggested and restricted lists of values for the attribute @person-group-type.

<person-group person-group-type="data-curator">

<collab>The BAC Resource Consortium</collab>

</person-group>

The @person-group-type attribute is used on the <person-group> element to indicate the role of the
contributors named in the group, for example, "author", "compiler", "editor", et al. For the purposes
of citing datasets and art, the value “curator” will be added to this list.

The Standing Committee will revisit this issue after the Contributor Role Taxonomy is published.
