The enhanced metadata elements in table 3 do not include elements vital to audio, video, and scores, including: genre/form, musical presentation, medium of performance and other data elements.  In table 4, the “media content” column only addresses images, not audio, video, and musical scores.

While not everything can be covered in basic standards, it is troubling that these standards purport to cover video, audio, and scores in the “media content” column, but in reality do not address these formats.

Submitter Proposed Solution

Minimally, acknowledge that this enhanced metadata does not cover video, audio, and musical scores, and that additional data elements are necessary to serve these formats. Clarify that “media content” only refers to images.

Ideally, expand with elements and examples for video, audio, and scores.
