I wonder if a few words could be added about best practices for libraries that do not do direct delivery to patrons who receive requests from libraries that want direct delivery to their patrons? Is it acceptable to simply deliver the requested item to the requesting library (I hope so), or is it expected that the lending library will first check with the requesting library and warn them not to expect the direct delivery? In general, it seems to me that most of this section concerns the logistics of a single library arranging for home delivery of its own materials to its own patrons, and perhaps you might want to think about differentiating between this practise and the issues that come up with delivering material that was requested via ILL to the patrons of another library. |
