Abstract:

To facilitate clear, efficient communication in interlibrary loan (ILL) requests, this standard describes the data elements that should be transmitted to identify the item requested, the borrowing and lending institutions, and the institutions' responses. Based on currently pervasive ILL practices, this standard applies to requests and replies transmitted via any medium.
