Agenda

In this second meeting of the NISO Altmetrics Steering Group we want to discuss the following topics:

1. Meeting format for first in-person meeting October 9 in San Francisco. The goal is to obtain input from a broad group of stakeholders regarding potential topics for altmetrics standardization and best practices. Some ideas:

• short questionnaire in workshop registration form
• predefined list of themes/categories
• introductions of attendees, including virtual attendees
• brainstorming session to collect ideas
• breakout groups by themes for further discussion
• lightning talks
• plenary discussion to sort and prioritize ideas

1. How can encourage broad participation at the workshop? What is intended audience size? Attendee list of PLOS workshop October 10-11 is at http://almworkshop13.eventbrite.com/.
2. In-person meetings. We intend to have three in-person meetings in October, December and January. Should we schedule other activities such as in-person interviews (in addition or instead of a third meeting) to better obtain feedback from researchers (continued discussion from first conference call).
