| Description | NOTE: Since joining this voting pool was voluntary, all organizations in the pool are expected to vote on this ballot. This is a ballot to approve NISO Z39.7-201x, Information Services and Use: metrics & statistics for libraries and information providers -- Data Dictionary. This is a revision to the 2004 edition of the standard. This standard is now continuously maintained by the Z39.7 Standing Committee. That means that comments and change requests can be sent continuously to the committee, which considers them at least twice per year. When a sufficient number of changes have been accepted (and/or the standard reaches its regular review period), the proposed revision is balloted. In general, the changes to the standard are: The accepted comments and additional changes made by the Z39.7 Standing Committee to reflect changes in cited statistics surveys and new statistics to reflect changes for electronic documents and related services were added. One notable change is the integration of the former Appendix regarding Methods of Measurement into the body of the standard. The 2012 version is an aggregation of all the changes made since the standard was transferred to continuous maintenance. After using the online data dictionary, it became more apparent that document layout and organization were not fully complete. Some sections have been cleaned up, reformatted, and better organized (resulting in many very small changes made throughout the document). Also, the e-metrics have been integrated to make them easier to use.
