DEIA in the Scholarly Communication Landscape
Running from June 6 through August 1, 2024, the DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) in the Scholarly Communication Landscape series is an important addition constructed to fortify participants with foundational principles essential for navigating today’s diverse landscape. The program curriculum is crafted to be inclusive and beneficial for everyone, no matter where you or your organization are in the DEIA journey. Each webinar within this series promises to impart concrete steps to move forward, provide invaluable reference resources and foster meaningful dialogue. This series will be facilitated by Damita Snow, CAE, ENV SP (Director, Accessibility & Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Publications & Strategy, ASCE) and Stephanie (Steph) Pollock (Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (EDI) Lead, American Psychological Association). Additional voices will be added to the program as guest speakers invited to share their personal and professional experiences and wisdom.

Open Research: Overview, Insights, and Actions
NISOs third training series of the year will focus on open research. Led by Bianca Kramer (founder, consultant, and research analyst), Open Sesame Open Science) and Jeroen Bosman (Geoscience Librarian and Information/Collection Specialist, Utrecht University), the Open Research: Overview, Insights, and Actions program will address the complexities of open science that have become a cornerstone of modern research practices. Using the research cycle as a framework, this course will help participants navigate everything from data sharing to publication ethics, gaining practical skills and insights in order to integrate open research into your own workflow and institutional context. Sessions will combine presentation, demonstration, hands-on exploration, and discussion.
